The Tenant Duty Counsel Program (TDCP) is a program of ACTO, funded by Legal Aid Ontario. We fund 30 legal clinics across the province to provide TDCP services.
Service Disruption Notice: Tenant Duty Counsel (TDC)
Please note that Tenant Duty Counsel services will be unavailable for tenants in Toronto and the Peel Region on the following days: Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16.
If you have a hearing scheduled on either of these days and require summary legal advice, please contact your local legal aid clinic as soon as possible. You can find your nearest clinic here: https://www.legalaid.on.ca/legal-clinics/ or by calling 416-979-1446 or 1-800-668-8258.
If you have already signed up on the TDC queue, we will attempt to contact you before your hearing.
We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Housing Help
If you have a problem with your landlord, have been illegally locked out or have received a sheriff notice or eviction order, you may need legal help before there is a Landlord and Tenant Board hearing. For low-income tenants, this help is provided by community legal clinics, located in each major town or city.
Tenant Duty Counsel Program
TDCP staff are legal professionals who provide remote advice, legal assistance, resources and referrals to unrepresented tenants on or before the day of their scheduled hearing at the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB). Priority is given to tenants facing eviction.
