Journey to Housing Stability – Literature Review

This literature review is part of ACTO’s Your Way Forward report: The Journey to Housing Stability for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence.

To guide the project, ACTO first explored the existing research on the impact of gender-based violence (GBV) on a renter’s housing stability from a rights-based perspective. This was examined at the intersection of the rental housing system and the rental legal system. Download the document for the full literature review.

The Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO) is a specialty community legal clinic, funded by Legal Aid Ontario, with a province-wide mandate to serve low-income tenants across the province. The clinic also coordinates the Tenant Duty Counsel Program (TDCP) across Ontario, which provides legal information and assistance to self-represented tenants appearing at the Landlord and Tenant Board.
